Supreme Audit Institutions play an important role when promoting a transparent government that complies with the rules regarding integrity. The Supreme Audit Institution of Curaçao took the lead by putting transparency and integrity on the agenda. In order to support this process, among other things, tools developed by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) are made use of. With these tools, Supreme Audit can portray their own integrity risks and, where necessary, reinforce their own integrity management system.
At the end of November 2017, the Supreme Audit Institution of Curaçao, supported by two Moderators from Mexico and a Moderator of its own, carried out a risk analysis. This was done with the help of the instrument ‘IntoSAINT (Self-Assessment INTegrity)’ of INTOSAI. During three days a number of Staff Members of the Supreme Audit Institution participated in the practice-oriented workshops, guided by the Moderators. The integrity aspects that need attention were identified and converted into concrete action plans. With this, the Supreme Audit Institution is giving a good example for the Public Sector of Curaçao.
