The Supreme Audit Institution of Curaçao participated in the XXXII General Meeting of the regional Courts of Audit Organization, Organización Latinoamericano de Entidades Fiscalizadoras Superiores (OLACEFS). This took place from November 28 through December 1, 2023 in Lima, Peru. The Supreme Audit Institution was represented as a member of the OLACEFS by Eithel Vriend, Chairman and Board Member, and Halder Lam, Board Member. More than 100 persons from 20 countries participated in the meeting. The hosting organization was the Supreme Audit Institution of Peru (Controlaria General de la República del Perú).
The Meeting was about the participation of 22 Members of OLACEFS for the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices. These contributions will contribute to the Organization remaining acknowledged as active, influential and resilient.
During the meeting, among other things, two technical themes were dealt with. The first theme was about a Digital Board for the Development, with the focus being on technical applications and data analyses for the control on and by the Government. The second theme dealt with the relationship between Courts of Audit, OLACEFS and the media, with the purpose of reinforcing the giving of account.
At the end of the successful meeting, the Declaration of Lima was signed by the Members. In it, all the agreements achieved during the meeting of the advisory and administrative sessions were incorporated.
The 22 Member States that are part of OLACEFS are: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curaçao, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
