The Supreme Audit Institution of Curaçao acted, as host for the SAI PMF Review Workshop in the week from July 3 through July 7, 2023. This workshop was organized by the ‘INTOSAI Development Initiative’(IDI), in cooperation with the Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions’(CAROSAI). The Audit Institutions of Grenada, Montserrat and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines also participated. The workshop was a continuation to the four weeks during an online course, also taken care of by IDI. A team of three Staff Members of the four Supreme Audit Institutions took this course in November and December 2022.
SAI PMF assessment
The course dealt with the methodology for judging the achievement of a Supreme Audit Institution. This was done with the help of the Supreme Audit Institutions Performance Measurement Framework (SAI PMF). The course was intended to equip Participants with the basic knowledge and skills. These are necessary to execute a SAI PMF assessment’. Thus, it is expected that the Participants are able to apply the principles and the methodology of the SAI PMF. This is applicable when planning, implementing and reporting on the assessment of the achievements of the Supreme Audit Institution. With the acquired knowledge and skills, each of the teams had to subsequently conduct a ‘SAI PMF self-assessment of their Supreme Audit Institutions in the first half of the year 2023.
Achievement level
During the workshop, the progress of the activities performed of the teams was evaluated. In addition, the workshops provided the teams with the necessary knowledge and skills. With this, they could execute an analysis of the principle causes of the achievement level of their Supreme Audit Institution, so that they could arrive at a quantitative assessment of the achievements. Subsequently, the workshop offered the teams the necessary support to be able to finalize the draft reports. Following this, the IDI will continue to offer support at a distance during the remaining phases of the assessment process to the teams in order to guarantee a high-quality and timely rounding off of the reports. Zodat ze tot een kwalitatieve beoordeling van de prestaties konden komen. Vervolgens heeft de workshop de teams de nodige ondersteuning geboden om de concept rapporten te kunnen finaliseren. In het vervolg hiervan zal het IDI gedurende de resterende fasen van het ‘assessment’ proces ondersteuning op afstand blijven bieden aan de teams, teneinde een hoogwaardige en tijdige afronding van de rapporten te garanderen.
