The ‘SAI’s Engaging with Stakeholders’, also referred to as SES, was developed and initiated in 2017 by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI). The pursuance of this project is Greater Audit impact through effective stakeholders’ engagement. From Tuesday 20 through Friday 23 of August 2019, three Staff Members of the Supreme Audit Institution participated in the ‘Lessons Learnt Workshop’ of this workshop in Pretoria, South Africa. All the sessions of the SES project were sponsored by the IDI.
In all, twenty Supreme Audits Institutions participated, of which twelve Members of the ‘African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions from English-speaking African countries (AFROSAI-E)’. The other eight Members were from the ‘Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (CAROSAI)’,
During this four-day workshop, all participating Supreme Audit Institutions gave a short presentation of the progress they had achieved in connection with the implementation of their SES strategies. In addition to the presentations, the SES project was also evaluated. The Participants also shared in groups their individual challenges that they encountered during the execution of the strategies. The fellow Group Members subsequently devised possible solutions for these challenges together.
It was an informative meeting and the Supreme Audit Institution is quite busy with the implementation of its strategy.
